Best Non-surgical Cosmetic Procedures
Non-surgical cosmetic procedures improve your appearance for less money and have little to no recovery time.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) reported that from 2000 to 2016, the number of invasive plastic surgical procedures decreased by six percent. However, it is not surprising that from 2000 to 2016, noninvasive or minimally invasive operations increased by 180 percent.

According to ASPS, the top three noninvasive procedures include:

  • Chemical peels
  • Fillers
  • Botulinum toxin type A (Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin)

What are the types of non-surgical cosmetic procedures?

Some of the popular non-surgical cosmetic procedures include:

  • Chemical peels: Use a chemical solution to remove the top layers of your skin and resurface it. A chemical peel is one of the least invasive procedures to enhance your skin's appearance. It can help with rough or sun-damaged skin, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation issues, and acne or acne scars.
  • CoolSculpting: A noninvasive procedure that freezes stubborn fat, which the body then naturally eliminates. This procedure doesn’t require surgery or needles. Additionally, no downtime is required after the treatment. Using precisely regulated cooling, this method safely targets the fat cells under your skin without causing any negative effects on the skin. After being crystallized (frozen), the treated fat cells pass away. Your body gradually gets rid of the fat cells, giving you a more contoured appearance. Most people can resume their regular activities right away. After your treatment, changes might start to appear three weeks later, with the most notable effects appearing after one to three months.
  • Botox injections: Botox is an effective method to treat frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines without undergoing surgery. Botox is injected into the specific muscle groups that cause wrinkles, stopping the muscles from contracting and maintaining smooth, youthful skin. Inhibiting the muscles also prevents the formation of new wrinkles. Botox therapy is a risk-free, painless procedure when performed by an experienced doctor. Results usually last about four to six months and are visible after three days.
  • Ultherapy: A noninvasive ultrasound procedure that activates your skin's collagen and elastin. With no downtime and surgery required, it tightens and lifts your skin while treating the same deep tissue planes as a contemporary face-lift. All skin tones can safely use it, and it is a wise choice if you have slightly or moderately lax skin. Ultherapy has received FDA approval and works well on the brow, neck, and area under the chin.
  • Sclerotherapy: It involves injecting a particular solution into the problematic channels and can be used to treat leg veins. Sclerotherapy is a safe and effective therapeutic alternative for many leg vein problems, albeit it cannot treat varicose veins. Before beginning sclerotherapy, you must consult a doctor to be sure that it is the best course of action for you.
  • Injectable fillers: Injectable fillers are a popular and widely accepted treatment to correct deep lines in the face. They are useful if you have deep folds or lines but do not want to undergo face-lift surgery. Various fillers can be injected underneath your skin to “plump up” deep lines. Lines typically treated with fillers include those along the nasolabial fold lines (which run from the corner of your nose down to the corner of your mouth) and the marionette lines (which run from the corner of your mouth down to your chin). Fillers can also give your lips a fuller, more youthful contour.
  • Microblading: Rather than constantly filling in their brows, many women are opting for semipermanent brows in the form of a cosmetic tattoo. Microblading is a cutting-edge treatment that uses small needles to generate natural-looking hair strokes. The treatment takes just two to three hours to complete and lasts up to three years.
